Woohoo! It’s finally ready. Listo. The SECOND EDITION of Eat Wine Santiago is done. That’s right, the second, updated version is out. Click here to score your copy now.
At the end of 2009, we launched Eat Wine Santiago as the first-ever published English-language food, drink, and cultural e-guide to Santiago. It caused a roar among travelers and expats. We’re back now with more datos, tips, new recommendations, and an update. Perfect for travelers and expats, the guide dives into uncovering and sharing with readers the vibrant restaurant and food scene: from the latest gourmet restaurants to classic eating institutions, local and ethnic joints and eateries, open-air and organic markets, colloquial sandwich spots, thriving wine bars, pulsating night life, coffee shops, and a gamut of specialty stores from cheeses to Asian, Middle Eastern, bakeries, and more.
What’s Eat Wine Santiago‘s mission? To unearth and share with YOU the tastiest gems and buzzing culture that the cosmopolitan Chilean capital has to offer. Eat Wine Santiago also delivers practical travel tips, an orientation to the city’s neighborhoods, Chilean etiquette and customs, and a comprehensive must-try wine list and culinary dictionary to help you navigate the local menus like a native. This “all you need to know” guide is a must-have resource with the smarts of a long time local (err, me!) whose voice feels like a friend. I am essentially accompanying you as you eat your way through Santiago.
What’s in the update?
Santiago is a city coming into its own. It’s on the up. With so many changes (and improvements), you’re not going to want to miss out on anything. This guide is here to, well, guide you to the places you want to be–like Granero Goloso, an organic food store in downtown Santiago with everything from homemade hummus to gooey milk caramel made from goat’s milk, free range eggs, and a huge variety of soy and celiac products. Hankering for Mexican, real Vietnamese, home-style Indian food, Peruvian ceviche, or the perfect beef tartare? Bingo. Wondering where to take your parents or family when they visit? The top gourmet and “molecular” restaurants like Boragó or Pasta e Vino along with old-school institutions to chow down on Chilean classics. Want to shop all organic? We’ve got the scoop on the markets, home delivery, and the “Whole Foods“-esque store in Santiago. We tasted, vetted, updated, and now it’s yours to devour.
